Multicolour Tanzanian Spinel Facet Rough

This is a 24.7 ct parcel of bright Spinel Rough for Faceting. It is from Morogoro in Tanzania.

The colours range from bright hot pink to lilac to lavender to steel blue. The spinel pieces are all eye-clean or better though a few pieces may have inclusions near the edges that will cut out. They will make very bright accent stones.

The parcel weighs 24.7 ct and contains 33 pieces. Individual pieces range from 0.40 ct to 1.27 ct with the average being about 0.75 carat.

Spinel is hard, durable and easy to cut. It needs to be polished using 14,000 grit diamond or higher.
