Double-Terminated Bi-Colour Tourmaline Crystal Specimen from Afghanistan

Afghani Tourmaline is rare as it's both difficult to obtain due to the problems in the country and because the traders tend to hang on to it. These pieces will continue to be rarities as it's so difficult to source new rough.

This very rare double-terminated bi-colour tourmaline crystal has a very clear cap of sea-green at one end changing on a sharply-defined line to medium olive green.

Both ends are terminated though the sea-green end is not as sharp or clear. The olive termination is still covered in some of the original matrix the crystal grew in, and thus appears worn.

The sea-green cap is clear enough to facet though it would be a shame to destroy such a unique crystal specimen.
