Light Sapphire-Blue Natural Zircon Stud Earrings

These are 18 karat yellow gold and natural blue zircon stud earrings hand-crafted in Cambodia. They have a pair of brilliant natural light sapphire-blue Zircons approximately 3.5 x 4.5 mm and estimated 0.9 carats total weight. The zircons are transparent and eye-clean with a good polish and have excellent brilliance.

The zircons are genuine gemstones mined in the Rattanakiri district of Cambodia. When originally mined they are tea-coloured and turn various shades of light blue-green to deep blue or yellow after heating. Only a very few of the zircon gemstones turn this deep blue making them relatively rare. These stones were cut locally in Cambodia.

**Note: Zircon is a genuine gemstone known for its brilliance. Colourless zircons were once used as a diamond substitute. Zircon must not be confused with Cubic Zirconia (also misleadingly called Zircon, Zirconia or CZ). Cubic Zirconia is a cheap man-made diamond imitation that comes in various colours.
