Afghan Aquamarine Crystal Specimen or Cabbing Rough

As with the Tourmaline, aquamarine from Afghanistan is hard to find due to the problems in that region. As you can see it has very good tone and colour.

This is a nice crystal of sky-blue aquamarine. The crystal has well-defined faces on the sides with smaller crystals attached. It can either be kept as a specimen or used as lapidary rough to create a nice finished cab.

This piece measures 14 x 12 x 11 mm and weighs 4.0 ct/0.8 grams.
