About AMA Gems and Minerals |

AMA Gems and Minerals was founded as a result of our own experiences searching for quality lapidary and facet rough. In the past 20 years prices have skyrocketed and suppliers of quality gemstone rough have disappeared, leaving hobbyists and afficionados with a much harder time getting material. Hobbyists are being forced to purchase their lapidary rough from overseas dealers in Africa and Asia, where the quality can be suspect and returning items for refund is difficult or impossible.
Our goals are simple: to provide top-quality gemstones and gemstone rough to those discerning customers who appreciate such material, and to provide as accurate photos and information about the gems as technically possible. We strive to bring you the best gemstone lapidary and faceting rough we can find. We want to share these with you so you too can cut some amazing gems.
We have a supply of Australian Black Opals, Opal Rough, Afghan Lapis Lazuli and Faceting Rough from Asia and Africa. We are expanding our inventory as we locate sources that meet our levels of quality and reliability. Luckily we have managed to establish good relationships with some of the better overseas dealers. We buy in bulk to get the best prices and then offer those gemstones, lapidary and facet rough to you at the best price we can.
Our stones are natural untreated materials - no imitations or synthetics. The rare treated gemstone (heated, sealed, or otherwise altered) will be clearly marked as such with a disclosure of what treatment process they have gone through, if known.
Satisfaction Guarantee:
All items except those specifically marked "Final Sale" can be returned for a refund as long as it has not been damaged or altered. We must be informed of your decision to return the item within 15 days of the invoice date. If you are not satisfied with your purchase for any reason, please contact us immediately at info@frozenlightning.com or use the Contact Us link for return instructions. You will receive a full refund of the purchase price less shipping and handling.
